Hi! My name is Brooke and I am a painter and tattoo artist. I work at First Class Tattoos in Lower East Side, Manhattan.
I am originally from Bakersfield, CA and also spent a good portion of my life living in WA state. Painting has been a part of my life for many years which has evolved to where I am now as a tattoo artist. My journey is a bit different than the usual story. After graduating college with a BFA, I felt lost and afraid to take the leap for an MFA because why would I want more debt? I landed a job in banking in Seattle, and for the next 7 years climbed up the corporate ladder, fully enjoying the perks of 9-5, paid time off and consistent income. This eventually allowed me to move to NYC, which was a dream come true. Landing a killer job in finance was what I thought I wanted. I absolutely hated it. I felt like I betrayed myself and hid behind a facade for the sake of my career. I made the decision to quit my job and asked for an apprenticeship at First Class Tattoos and I never looked back. Now I am a full time tattoo artist and work with my incredible mentor, Mikhail Anderson. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such incredible artists and for all of the clients who have trusted me with their body art.
My favorite tattoos include vibrant color, realistic elements, florals, ornamentals and watercolor.
